Interests…
Music
I listen to a variety of styles but my favourite artists are Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Redgum.
As I get older my taste is swinging more towards Australian Country music, mainly because you still get the stories and lyrics that are missing from much of the modern rap/hip-hop/rock-n-roll material that comes out these days. So I also like Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey and Keith Urban.
I play guitar and sing, and one day I will finish recording my own original material and will be putting it up on this site for criticism/acclaim. I was in a band called Southern Reign, but we folded in October 2007. From 2015 – 2018 I was a member of “The Groove”.
I am a writer member of APRA.
In 2015 I took up Lutherie, doing an Instrument Making course at Tonsley T.A.F.E. for the next 3½ years before I had set myself up to be able to build guitars at home.
Little Athletics
In 2012 I was invited to fill a temporary vacancy as Vice President on the Board of Directors of South Australian Little Athletics. In 2015 I was elected President and became a member of the Board of Little Athletics Australia as a result. I only served one term and resigned from the SA Board in 2016. I was previously heavily involved with my kids’ Little Athletics Club (Hallett Cove Little Athletics Centre) and am a Life Member.
Chrysler Vehicles
I drive a 1970 VF Valiant that I bought in 1987 and restored a few years later after an electrical fire in 1992. In 2010, I bought my second Valiant, a 1979 CM Station Wagon, we affectionately call Jaffa due to it’s colour. In 2012 I inherited two Chrysler Galants (a GC and a GD). I’m trying to restore them in my spare time (very slowly!). I am an active member and former President of the Chrysler Car Club of SA and I look after the Club Library. It’s a great Club, very friendly and informal. In 2012 I was chuffed to be made a Life Member.
Check out my Chrysler page for more on my love of all things Chrysler.

Did an Apprenticeship with Telecom Australia from 1985 to 1989.
